Manage Your Subscriptions

Manage your public and premium dataset subscriptions.

Learn how to manage your different subscriptions from the Data Observatory

Through the “My Subscriptions” section within the “Data” panel of your user dashboard, you can review all details for managing and accessing Data Observatory datasets you’ve subscribed to. This central page displays each subscription’s status (requested, active, expired, etc.), provides access to dataset metadata, and enables you to begin working with subscribed datasets.

For datasets supported by CARTO Builder, the dashboard offers “View dataset” and “Create map” options to directly access data or create new maps.

Note: Not all datasets work within CARTO Builder due to size and format constraints. For these cases, access datasets through CARTOframes to query them, reduce coverage by filtering (bounding box, specific columns, or column values), then load results as tables in your CARTO account. See the CARTOframes Data Management guide in the Developer Center.

Python users can download pre-built notebooks showing how to access and explore data with CARTOframes, or use this interface to retrieve IDs for calling data from custom notebooks.

Unsubscribe from public datasets by accessing the detail page and clicking “Unsubscribe”. Premium subscriptions expire according to terms in your acquired license.

Note: CARTOframes also provides Data Enrichment methods for augmenting point and polygon-based data with Data Observatory variables. Upload enrichment results back to your CARTO account as tables for use in Builder.
