What happens in Builder with my EDITOR maps?

Overview

Maps created previously using CARTO Editor that are either used by a CARTO.js application or utilize unsupported features in Builder will remain in their current state.

However, opening an old Editor map with Builder initiates migration. While the product team worked to prevent issues, some features may break and the map may require some work to be adapted to Builder.

Finished Maps

Live embedded maps or those used in CARTO.js applications can be stored in a Builder account without modification. However, any edits will trigger the migration process.

New Maps

Maps created with a Builder account feature new characteristics but lack some still-in-development features. Users gain access to improved legends and enhanced symbolization options.
